I think they nerfed the drop of gems in the DoA. There is a noticable drop in the rate in which they appear. When I look at how long it takes to get just one after the nerf, it would take a ridiculous amount of hours to try and come up with 60 to get a tormented weapon.

I re-read it, and yeah, she did. Sorry.
So now I have to say, what a really crappy system they have for updating the website. They could pay me $5 a month and I could do stupid piddly things like add 1 line of text to the website. I've done many a web page design and updating in my day, and I know it doesn't take 24-hour implementation and a rocket-science degree to accomplish a sentence of text. Please.

But can you translate the update notes into all the languages they support and post it on all the official websites? If you can, I bet they'd hire you.
I'm one of those who really wants every update annotated, but I never considered the amount of work needed for translation. I'd still like to have that, but with all the work needed, I can understand why the update notes aren't complete.

I have to wonder what sort of effect the small things that we download can have on our systems or ability to play this game. I recently - not sure if it was on Wednesday, though I know that this is when my issue popped up - recieved a small download through my Guild Wars client and since this Wed. of this week have been unable to walk through any zone, and I mean any, on any character without err=007'ing.
I've already made a report to NCsoft about this issue - did so on this Wednesday - but it still raised questions with me. I'm still experiencing the issue, and while I know next to nothing about the technical side of any downloads and implementations, I do know that due to this issue (which does not seem to originate on my own computer) I would appreciate a speedy output of update notes. I can't play the game without downloading the update to get to the login screen, so while it might be something as small as "cleaning dust bunnies out of a server in Virginia" I'd really love to be given even a small amount of information regarding the files.
That said, I do appreciate the concern with this issue that I've seen from Anet representatives in this thread.

That's got nothing to do with the update. It has been happening and there are a few threads in the tech section about it already.

Thanks for the heads up; nevertheless, being fairly technically illiterate when it comes to computers I make the associations I can based on when I recieve files and what happens directly after (I made this association since the first time I err=007'd was immediately after recieving this update), which gives me an incentive to desire information on what comes into and leaves my computer, whether or not any one piece of information is related to any other piece of information.

well there is an in-game thingy that can be used to put info, then use it!

Hah! I'd forgotten all about that.
...Yeah, seriously, it'd be nice to see the login-screen notifier used a little more aggressively. There's only so often you can look up to see the little "OMG third party programs" notification before you start ignoring it entirely.

Hey, guys,
Talked to the designers, they're fully on board for more complete notes, whenever possible. We cannot (truly cannot) promise "a note for every update," because sometimes an update is simply tweaking something very small, like a typo in a skill description. However, we'll do our very best to have as many notes as possible, and to do our best to assure that the notes are as complete as possible, as well!
Edit to add: We did put up the notes...err... note for Wednesday.

Gaile, I have a great idea for the update notes. Whenever it's something small and simple, like typo corrections or the like, y'all could put "grammar nazi was here" or something similar.
Okay, I'll go back to my corner. Y'all can stop throwing things now.

The internet is such a breeding ground for misinformation and paranoia, I think it is in your best interest to post something.
Personally, a simple little minor technical adjustment, or updated text.
Really- wouldn't it be worth your time to add the notes then to spend all this time debunking the end of the world threads? =)

Please don't make updates just to fix typos. Think about all those people enjoying a winning streak in HA/TA/RA. I'm only posting this because it happened to me several times. I don't remember if the updates were minor or not, but it's really annoying.

Sorry, mine was a poor example. I don't think we've ever actually done a server update for a typo. We only interrupt the gameplay when it really needs to be done, and fixing typos isn't a requirement or an urgent matter.
